Hillie's Artwork

Hillie's Artwork is a tattoo studio and mural shop in downtown Gladewater run by an artist who started airbrushing T-shirts in a Longview mall and never really stopped. His studio walls tell the story — Hulk, She-Hulk, Thanos, Spider-Man, all frozen mid-battle on surfaces he painted himself, alongside a floor tiled entirely in comic book pages. The tattoo work runs the same range: bold color realism, fine-line floral, black and grey detail work. Outside the shop, his murals are on storefronts, schools, and street corners across East Texas, including the 150-year logo on the Gladewater Museum. He's also the only tattoo artist I've met who doesn't have a single tattoo himself, which comes up constantly and doesn't slow him down one bit. Art classes are in the works. Appointment only.
